DIY Photo Booth Backdrops

DIY Photo Booth Backdrops via JustB
I have a super good friend getting married next month, and we're flying back to the States for the wedding. We're all super excited about that. It will be Emmy's first overseas flight, and we're all waiting nervously to see how that goes. I'll post a few tips on travelling with babies/kids soon, and I'll report back to see if any of those tips worked.

But I love this collection of quirky and cute DIY Photo Booth backdrops that Pip put together over at justb. Click here to see the rest of the DIY Photo Booth backdrop round-up!

Featured Recipe: Root Beer Float Cupcakes

Root beer is a favorite in the States and I sure miss it sometimes. Here in Australia they don't have it in most of the shops, although they have something similar called Sarsaparilla. You can find Root Beer in some speciality shops but it comes at a price. So when I saw this Root Beer Cupcake recipe over at A Beautiful Mess, I thought um YUM!

You can find the recipe over here

Featured Etsy Shop: Max & Olivia

My featured Etsy shop today is 'Max & Olivia'. I recently purchased supplies from this lovely shop for Emmy's birthday party. I spent so much time looking through the beautiful photos in the shop before making my decision of getting some wooden utensils and brown craft bags for party favors.

I recommended the shop to my friend who is having a wedding in a couple months and she's ordered some things too.

It's a great shop and I like their tagline, 'helping you deliver happiness'. Wonderful!

NEST Recipe - Choc Chip Mint Cupcakes

I made some yummy cupcakes yesterday, Chocolate chip Mint cupcakes. With choc chips in the cake and on the frosting.

I adapted a recipe that I found on taste.com.au. See the recipe after the jump.

Succulent Centrepieces

I'm working on the centrepieces for Emmy's birthday in a couple weeks and I wanted to do something that looks natural and different, almost arid. To be honest, my budget will allow me to do far less than I really want to do, but I love these flower/succulent centrepiece photos. I see a lot of succulents being used for wedding bouquets as well.

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes Recipe

This was the coveted birthday treat when I was a kid. If you had Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes at your birthday party, the cool kids were sure to come. I'm looking forward to making these for Emmy's first birthday in a couple of weeks.

These can be a little tricky to bake, so here's a little how-to video from Martha on how to make them. She uses a slightly different recipe for more grown up ice cream cone cupcakes with coffee in the cake and frosting, sounds yummy.

The full recipe is after the jump

Teepee Birthday Party planning

I had Emmy's birthday party invites and thank you cards printed the other day; along with some other bits and bobs. I made some thank you tags to go on a little goody bag to go home with our guests (a smore kit... I'll show you later, but there's a similar recipe below). The feather tags will go on eco-friendly birch cutlery ordered through this etsy shop, and tied on with some pink and white butcher twine. I also made some cupcake toppers (I'll show you later), which I think are really cute!

Still to come are the centre pieces and some other décor including a DIY drum like this one.
