It's slowly getting warmer here in Australia, and it's getting colder in the Northern Hemisphere, but one trend that is HOT in both places is Dip Dying! I've gathered together a few tutorials to help you make your own dip dying projects. I'm looking forward to trying one of these this weekend.

DIY Flower Projects

It would be hard not to notice that one of the hottest trends in fashion, wedding, and diy in general are flower crowns. I've put together a round-up of diy flower projects including a flower crown, flower bracelet (corsage), and a flower napkin holder. These are super cute and I can't wait to try them out.

Easter DIY Round-up: Bunnies

DIY Fall/Thanksgiving Wreath

Style Me Pretty has the loveliest ideas, don't they? I'm loving this fresh Thanksgiving Wreath, and I noticed they're using eucalyptus in the wreath (which is readily available here in Australia). Beautiful!

DIY Autumn Owl Garland

                 
Yeah, yeah. I know Halloween is over and that wreaths and stockings are taking over the blogosphere, but I love this DIY Owl Garland by Mer Mag. Here is Australia it's spring so anything not to autumn-ish is greatly appreciated! (Although I am excited to bring out the Christmas tree and put the crackling fire DVD on, and pretend it's freeeezing cold)

DIY Photo Booth Backdrops

I have a super good friend getting married next month, and we're flying back to the States for the wedding. We're all super excited about that. It will be Emmy's first overseas flight, and we're all waiting nervously to see how that goes. I'll post a few tips on travelling with babies/kids soon, and I'll report back to see if any of those tips worked.

DIY Planter Round Up

I've got a couple of garden related projects going over at my Nest at the moment. I'll take some photos and show you the before and afters SOON! I don't necessarily have a 'green thumb' but I have had some success in the garden this year!

DIY Cat Pin

It was recently my sister's birthday and we love to make each other gifts for birthdays and Christmas. So I made her a felt pin look-alike of her cat, Chuck Taylor. What to do you get a girl that has everything? A cat pin of course! 

I also designed the card behind the pin and printed it on craft paper cardstock. I'm going to slip it into a cellophane pouch to give it a professional look.  

I got the idea and the tutorial over here from the always adorable and inspiring blog, One More Mushroom. 

I then wrapped up the little critter in some cute Kikki.K wrapping paper (the reverse side says "Happy Birthday" but I prefer the Geo pattern side).

DIY Pouch Sewing Tutorial

Folks, it's 6 months until Christmas! I'm really looking forward to it this year. I'm putting these DIY Pouches on my list of things to make for Christmas gifts. We try to give purposeful, useful, and non-wasteful gifts in our family and I think these will be put to good use. I love the patterns and colour blocking that How About Orange used in the pouches above. See the original tutorial here.
