Tips for Travelling with an Infant or Toddler

NEST Vintage & Handmade: Travelling with Infant or Toddler via Science of Mom

In a week and a half we'll be flying from Melbourne AUS to Seattle USA with our 16 month old! I'm a little more than nervous for the flight and connections and how she'll cope on the flight. I found this great article over at Science of Mom blog, full of tips for travelling with an infant or toddler! See the article Here.

Some of the tips include packing toys that the child hasn't seen before, bringing low mess packaged foods, clothing for easy diaper/nappy changes, and don't be ashamed to use technology to entertain your child!

Another thing that someone told me is that you can wrap up the new toys (or activities like colouring books, etc.), that the child can unwrap during the flight. This makes it fun for the child and adds an element of surprise.

A couple extra tips are to make sure that there are infant beds available on your preferred flight before you make the booking. We called our airline to make sure there were beds available before we made the booking.

We are lucky enough to have friends and family in Seattle so we asked if they had a carseat and porta-crib that we could borrow. Any items that you don't have to rent and pay for the better.

I'll let you know how the flight goes!
